This company seems completely clueless about the European GDPR guidelines:
* They can't figure out which rules apply to which data sets (like not tracking the country of origin, such as with IP addresses).
* They still talk about the outdated Privacy Shield and claim everything's fine in their emails.
* The original user page lacks proper privacy rules, meaning there's no consent whatsoever.
* They keep data even after you unsubscribe from their site.
* There are several issues with their processing times and verification steps that don't match up with GDPR requirements.
* They even want to gather more info during the data deletion process, like the exact country of origin.

In short, ConvertKit collects data without proper consent and won’t delete it even when you ask nicely.

I spent hours writing, only to discover that my work had vanished.

I was told to avoid opening multiple tabs of ConvertKit, but that wasn’t the issue.

They took their sweet time getting back to me, and ultimately, they didn’t help at all.

Customer support was decent, but unfortunately, they’re the ones taking the heat for a subpar backend system that the higher-ups decided to invest in.

If you can, look for other options. If you can’t, make sure to back everything up in a notepad. Every other tool I’ve used has an online save feature, but this one, despite me saving over 20 times, didn’t save a thing.

I've been a CK user for quite a while now, mainly due to its free integration with Thinkific (that's the only reason). It's not terrible, but the email editor is seriously messed up. You can't even type accents like this one ^, which is super common in French, for instance. The support team doesn't seem to give a hoot. If things don't improve, I might switch next year.

Convertkit is all about taking your cash. They really don’t bother if their service suits your needs. Questions like, "how can Convertkit assist my business?" go unanswered. I pointed out to the guy in the chat that he wasn’t addressing my inquiries, and he replied, "I didn’t realize you were asking a question." He thought I was just venting!!! That says it all, folks. Once they’ve got your cash, they lose interest.

You really don’t need this service, and if you’re making any profit, they’ll just chip away at your margins. There are way better alternatives out there. Just run.

The customer support is absolutely terrible. I was trying to set up a straightforward evergreen newsletter after my subscribers completed a 5-day sequence. I reached out five times for help to reintegrate the subscribers into the automation, but each time, someone messed with it in a different way, totally screwing it up. My subscribers still haven’t received an email because it seems like no one knows what they’re doing! They’ve thrown in all kinds of tags and segments that make no sense at all. Some of my subscribers are trapped in tags, others are marked as completed (even though they didn’t finish the sequence), and some are stuck due to bulk actions. One support person added 500 subscribers through bulk action, and now I’m told I can’t do anything with them. They can’t get any emails unless I send out a broadcast, which is just awful. I’m switching email providers since I’m shelling out $60 a month for this lousy service. Honestly, steer clear of this place. Don’t be fooled by the glowing reviews; they’re probably from affiliates looking to cash in without ever using the service themselves!

Steer clear of this email marketing provider. Their terms and conditions are a real headache. They don't cater to a lot of niches. It's super vague what content restrictions exist and what you can actually promote. They won't provide a straightforward explanation. If you come across any email service that bombards you with tons of questions for account verification, just delete that account right away and save yourself the hassle.

User-friendly design and I appreciate the concept that their no-cost plan allows you to try out all the features without pushing you to upgrade. Great for folks with smaller email lists.

Their privacy policy is pretty tough on excessive email marketing stuff. If you don’t follow these guidelines, your account gets shut down right away. So, you’ll be waiting for customer service (which can take hours) to export and send over your email list.

I just started using this service a couple of days ago, and while I was exploring some features, like broadcasting, my account got closed. I only managed to send one empty email to my own address, and then they decided to shut me down. Now, I gotta reach out and find out what’s going on. After reading other reviews, it’s clear this is a big issue for them. Honestly, I’m hesitant to continue using their service, even if they do unlock my account. It feels like you can’t count on them. What if they just halt your business and you end up losing money? And if you’ve agreed to their terms, why on earth would they close your account just for checking something?!

We were gathering leads using a form we set up on ConvertKit. Out of nowhere, they decided to shut down our account. Now, we can't even get our contacts exported that we gathered through that form. We’ve spent thousands on ads to bring in those leads, and they didn’t give us any option to export them.

There are plenty of email service providers out there like GetResponse and Aweber, and I suggest you steer clear of them. Otherwise, you’ll just be throwing away your money and time. I really hope you don’t end up making the same blunder we did.

The system is pretty straightforward, but my account keeps getting suspended, which means I can't email my customers. Customer support just keeps repeating the same questions, even though I've already answered them multiple times in the same conversation.

It's tough to suggest this service when I'm unable to use it half the time.

This marketing tool is fantastic and I had no trouble getting it installed and configured for our site. It integrates smoothly with a lot of other tools out there.

The only downside was that we were looking for a pop-up feature that works with Elementor, which sadly isn’t available yet. But once it is, you can bet we’ll be switching back to them (plus, it’s way better than Mailchimp).

Having tested Aweber, Get Response, and Mailchimp, I think I've discovered the perfect autoresponder for my needs. I'm really pleased with it.
